Mudengsan is well-known for talus slopes. There are many talus slopes featured in Mudeungsan : Duksan talus (from Donghwa Temple grounds to Tokkideung), Jigong Talus (from Jangbuljae to Gyubong), Ingae talus (deposited towards Ingae-ri, Hwasun after passing Gyubong), and Suman-ri talus (talus deposits in Suman-ri, Hwasun, which result from the Baekma ridge). Only Deoksan talus and Jigong talus are the official names of the slopes. Talus is also observed in Geumgok-dong which is located north of Eusangbong Peak. Talus or scree, is a collection of broken rock fragments at the base of a cliff or slope. Shrubs that in the talus are a spectacular sight to see. In geomorphology, they are classified into talus slopes, block fields, or block streams. Deoksan talus is found on the western slope (350-700 m above sea level) of the ridge that connects Jungbong and Donghwa Temple grounds. Deoksan talus is about 600 m long and 250 m wide.
