Seoyuri dinosaur fossil site is located in Hwasun Oncheonji, northwestern part of Hwasun-gun , Jeollanam-do. The site, distributed by Jangdong tuff of Neungju basin (a Cretaceous sedimentary basin), preserves over 1,500 dinosaur footprints including over 70 trackways. The fossils were mostly footprints of meat-eating dinosaurs (Therapoda) and are characterized by long concentration of tracks in a relatively small area. Furthermore, the site is regarded as a rare geological finding (longest trackways on average, 45 m). The site also has high academic values as the tracks help geologists understand dinosaur ecosystems during the Cretaceous period. Seoyuri dinosaur fossil site is registered as in the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visitors can be guided at the information center or by referring to the information boards with pictures.
