Seoseokdae Columns are located about 400 m north-northwest of Ipseokdae Columns and formed around 1,050 m above sea level, which is approximately 100 m higher than Ipseokdae Columns. Seoseokdae is a representative cliff with colonnades that extend 300 ~ 400 m in length. Both Seoseokdae and Ipseokdae Columns have been designated as Natural Monuments (no. 465). The clolums with various four to six sided polygonal clumns can be observed.
Seoseokdae and Ipseokdae columns are formed of Mudeungsan tuff. The Mudeungsan tuff was deposited during the Cretaceous period (85 million years ago) of the Mesozoic Age. The rocky cliffs are steep and the colonnades are slightly tilted westward.
